The county is served by the Union Pacific Railroad in thenortheast part of the county and the Kyle railroad in the southernhalf of the county. The Kyle Railroad is located along the northernside of the Horizons industrial site.

A 3,400 foot all-weather runway is located five miles from bothindustrial sites, being five miles south of Washington and five milesnorth of Linn. This runway will accommodate at least 75 percent ofall general aviation aircraft and is lighted for day or nightoperations. An FAA-approved non-directional beacon is in place forinstrument approach - Identifier DBX, Frequency 212.51OKHz, CallWRLB-3312.

Washington County is nearly equidistant from the three major areamarkets: Omaha, Nebraska, 143 miles; Kansas City, Kansas, 172 miles;and Wichita, Kansas, 162 miles.

Free land at two industrial sites is available for industryexpansion or location in Washington County. The Horizon's industrialsite, located at Linn, is 27 acres, and the City of Washington's siteis 18 acres. Both entities have agreed to provide at least 5.0 acresof land free to industries creating jobs, with additional land beingnegotiable.

Municipal and other utilities would be brought to the edge of theindustrial sites. Both sites access Kansas Highway 15 connecting toU.S. Highway 36 in the City of Washington. K-15 runs north and southacross the state, and U.S. 36 runs east and west across thestate.

Several structures from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet are available inthe county suitable for manufacturing or business.
